Anonymous: Do you think the Red Lotus might be bigger than just Zaheer and his gang- that it's a secret society to rival the White Lotus, and Aiwei's a member, not just an accomplice?

It’s definitely looking that way now!  (I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the reason for the Avatar compound, too… though it would definitely have made it a jerk move for Lin and Tenzin not to have warned Korra about that)

I have a feeling that the next episode is going to reveal that the Red Lotus probably infiltrated much of the world, not in the way of “getting rid of the Avatar”, but more of the “love and compassion” part of it which the red lotus is supposed to be, traditionally.

That would be interesting!  It’s certainly possible that Zaheer’s group is an extreme faction of the Red Lotus and the rest of the group doesn’t necessarily agree with his methods.

I’m starting to feel like the Red Lotus is basically the Avatarverse’s HYDRA (you know, from Captain America: Winter Soldier)

If that were the case, they’d have infiltrated the White Lotus itself, no?
